Disclaimer
Directories are listed in the order they were added to our database, not according to our internal ranking system. While directories near the top are likely more trustworthy than those near the bottom, we cannot not make any guarantees. This list is comprised of directories in our database either under review or that have been tested as good article directories, so we cannot guarantee that all directories listed will produce good results for your article marketing campaign.
We do not test, track, or even record (at present) a directory’s Google PageRank or Alexa Traffic Rank. These metrics, while they could be relevant depending on how you look at it, do not factor into our directory listings or our article directory ranking’s system.
Information about our directory list and qualification processes
We store the following information for each article directory on our list:
- The minimum and maximum word counts for each article
- The number of promotional links allowed in an article’s body
- The number of links allowed in the author bio
- Whether the article directory uses ‘nofollow’ links for articles
We store and use this information so that we can maximize the effectiveness of our article submission packages and to maximize our article directory inclusion rate. While many article submission services focus on sheer number of submissions, our services work better, in our opinion, because we take advantage of everything that a particular directory has to offer, while rotating ‘about the author’ bios to maximize an article marketing campaign’s link-building potential.
Additionally, we track the following elements to ensure that our directory is effective:
- The number of articles we submit to a particular directory
- The average approval time for each article submitted
- The number of days it takes, after submission, for an article to be listed in Google, Yahoo, or Bing
We take the above data, add weight to certain elements, and create a ranking system which tells us which article directories consistently deliver the best results in terms of approvals and resulting in the submitted articles showing up in search engines.
About our article directory submission process
When we submit an article for our Top 15 and Top 25 article submission packages, we use our top-ranked directories for approximately 80% of the submissions and the remaining to our newer article directories. At present, we have around 80 article directories that we use, and submissions are largely at random for a few reasons:
- We want to space out submissions to directories so that we do not submit too many in a fixed period of time
- In order for us to find more good directories, we have to continually test the newly-added article directories
- By randomizing our submissions, we are working to increase the number of backlinks from different websites for customers who order multiple article submission packages.
